Development of SMEs owned by PDIs

• Benchmarking of performance to establish operational deficiencies
• Twinning between large firms & BEE SMEs to provide support in areas of deficiency
• Provide guidance when interventions are undertaken at the firms

Blockages & opportunities research

• Identify blockages & opportunities to BBBEE in the industry
• Make recommendations regarding the advancement of BBBEE, including a specific focus on direct empowerment

Facilitation of BEE opportunities

• An annual survey to establish the BBBEE progress of the industry
• Best practice workshops on the seven BBBEE indicators in support of improving performance in each. Examples of subjects previously covered include an overview of the Codes of Good Practice on Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment, socio-economic development and preferential procurement
